CJSF - California Junior Scholarship Federation
CJSF is a statewide organization affiliated with the California Scholarship Federation at the high school level. CJSF’s motto is “scholarship for service” and its purpose is to foster high standards of scholarship, service and citizenship in the middle school grades. Membership is granted based upon application, citizenship and GPA in core classes. The constitution of CJSF only allows membership for seventh and eighth graders.
Seventh graders may join after the completion of the first semester.
ALL STUDENTS MUST REAPPLY EACH SEMESTER IN ORDER TO CONTINUE IN CJSF.
These rules are the requirements from the CJSF headquarters and no exceptions can be made. Students will need about a 3.8 g.p.a. to join. Our motto is “Scholarship for Service”. Eighth graders can join in the fall semester and seventh graders can join in the spring semester. Students are encouraged to complete four hours of community service each month. Students who have been members for three out of the four semesters are eligible to be honor members. Upon advancement, they will receive a pin, a gold seal, and a medallion for their community service. Additional questions? Please contact Ms. Andrea Gershwin or Ms. Kim Alcaraz, club advisers. Applications are available in the Canyon main office on the “Wall of Forms” in the main hallway.
