W.E.B. - Where Everybody Belongs

W.E.B. (Where Everybody Belongs) is a middle school orientation and transition program intended to welcome 6th graders and make them feel comfortable throughout their first year of middle school. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains and uses mentors from the 8th grade to be WEB leaders. These leaders help guide incoming 6th graders during their transition to middle school and help facilitate their ongoing success.

At Creekside, the program kicks off with a half day orientation before school starts.   The students participate in a series of activities and campus tours to help alleviate their fears about middle school and meeting other students.

One of the keys to success of the program is the WEB group.  Each group consists of between 10-12 incoming 6th graders and two 8th grade WEB leaders.  The group remains intact for the entire school year. This way, incoming students arrive the first day of school with a group of already-made friends.

WEB activities continue throughout the year.  Social events might include movie night, school bingo, or a scavenger hunt.  In addition, WEB leaders might go into the classroom and teach lessons on working with others, using positive comments, good sportsmanship and avoiding stress.  Eighth grade WEB leaders are also people younger students can depend on for a helping hand.

The WEB coordinators are and . Please contact them with any questions regarding the program.
