The groundbreaking  on Monday, July 10th was attended by community members and representatives from various organization and elected officials. Superintendent Ahmadi began the event by thanking the voters in Castro Valley for approving Measure G. She added, "Thanks to the voters in Castro Valley for the passage of Measure G, we are able to modernize our school buildings and outdoor facilities as well build a wellness center. The social, emotional and mental health of students are vital to their success in school and as young adults. The Wellness Center will provide the much needed space for staff and other partners such as Eden Counseling, Lafamilia and other County partners to serve students individually and in small groups. It also allows for better coordination of services."  Board President Howard and the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee Chair, Mr. Suresh Bhatt also spoke at the event and shared their excitement for the wellness center as well as the many other projects underway at various Castro Valley schools.
