Student Announcements

I DID NOT KNOW THAT: There are approximately 14,814,453 millionaires in the United States.

On Monday, February 26, we are taking group photos of last year’s Honor Roll and Honor Society students. This would be last year’s 6th and 7th graders. Meet in front of the gym at the end of Nutrition Break. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Chisholm, Room 24.

6th & 7th Grade Girls:  UC Berkeley’s Girls in Engineering program is actively recruiting applicants who are eligible for our need-based scholarships. Applications are due March 1st. Families are automatically awarded full scholarships if they demonstrate financial need (by qualifying for free or reduced price lunch, CalFresh, or Medi-Cal). All girls need to complete the normal camp application, but no additional scholarship application is required. Information about this program, and a link to the online application, is available on their website: http://girlsinengineering.berkeley.edu/

8th graders, your high school course selection sheets are due to your English teacher by Wednesday, March 7. Please remember to get signatures from your English/Spanish teacher if you want to take a foreign language, and from your Math teacher to approve your Math class. If you have any questions about high school classes, please request to see Ms. Lau as soon as possible.

Beginning today, February 7th, and lasting for three weeks until February 28th, will be Creekside's Pennies for Patients fundraiser to help fund the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as well as patients that are currently battling various types of blood cancer. The money we raise as a school also goes towards funding important research that's being done in order to eventually find a cure for the various types of blood cancers. Students should have received a small collection box and every advisory classroom should have a larger collection box as well. You are encouraged to put money into your advisory class's box over the course of the three week fundraising period. The top three advisory classes, schoolwide, will be rewarded with a pizza party.
