Summer Experiential Camp for Middle Schoolers

In an effort to help students learn which College and Career Pathway best matches their interests, a summer experiential camp is offered to middle schoolers.  Enrollment is offered first to  7th and 6th graders  and then to 8th graders, as space allows.  The camp is Four weeks in which students spend one entire week exploring the 4 pathways: Engineering,  Health & Biotechnology,  Information & Communication Technology,  and Graphic Design.

The Summer Camp runs parallel to CVUSD’s extended school year schedule and is hosted at Castro Valley High School.  Students are exposed to the CVHS campus and spend one week dedicated to each College and Career Pathway.  Summer Camp includes:

  • Classes hosted at CVHS
  • Visits from industry professionals
  • Hands on experiments including the chemistry of making ice cream, balloon launch, floatation test, roller coaster structure design, and more.
