Castro Valley Center for the Arts

 

The Castro Valley Center for the Arts (CFA) is a state of the art venue with a 520 seat Theatre and 75 seat Exhibition Hall. The CFA has wheel-chair seating for eight. We have modern theatrical equipment including 20 wireless microphones, 20 wired microphones, current Broadway level lighting control, special effects lighting equipment, Broadway level sound mixing equipment.  It has a high definition long throw projector perfect for movies or presentations.  It has two spacious and well lit dressing rooms.  It has easy access for back stage loading and unloading.  We have a sprung dance floor perfect for dance events and theatrical events alike.  We have a big beautiful lobby and fully functional box office.  Rental information can be found below.  We are now booking into the August of 2017.

The Filharmonics

“Fresh, fun, and adorable” describes the five young Filipino American men who are THE FILHARMONICS! This boy band specializes in a cappella urban hip hop mixed with ‘90s nostalgia. The Filharmonic burst onto the scene in 2013 making the semi-finals of NBC’s The Sing Off.  They were featured in the hit movie “Pitch Perfect 2” and have made guest appearances on the David Letterman Show and the Late Late Show with James Corden.  THE FILHARMONIC promises a high energy, fun filled evening of song and dance!

The Spouse Whisperer

Spend an evening with comedian Mark Cordes as he takes an hilarious peek into the world of relationships.  The journey starts with "love at first sight" til "death do us part" and all of the funny stuff that happens in between. Always charming and congenial, the Spouse Whisperer entertains with acerbic observations and a great comedic rapport with his audience.

Super Diamond-The Neil Diamond Tribute

SUPER DIAMOND delivers a glittering show performing Neil Diamond’s power ballads and up-tempo hits of the last 30 years.    Leader Randy Cordero (aka Surreal Neil) describes the band as “Neil  Diamond on steroids.” Not just a cover band, SUPER DIAMOND uses Diamond’s songs to create their own music with heavier guitars, mixing in contemporary riffs by Guns N’Roses, Kiss and AC/DC.  Break out your vintage Diamond-style sequins, bell bottoms, platform shoes and party on!

Wake the Dead

Wake the Dead is the world’s only Celtic All-Star Grateful Dead Jam Band.  This hot Northern California group has been blending Celtic traditional music and the songs of the Grateful Dead since 2000, pleasing Deadheads and Celtoids alike!  If you can’t quite imagine how this works, come and find out.

Franc D'Ambrosio BROADWAY

Singer, actor and more recently, painter FRANC D’AMBROSIO is best known for his long running role of the masked Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. For a decade he held the record for the longest run of the Phantom—2300 performances.  Today he tours extensively in the United States, Europe and South America with his critically acclaimed one man shows.

The Center for the Arts Box Office is open Thursdays and Fridays from 3:00 - 5:00 PM and is open one hour before the start of every ticketed production.
