Traffic Safety Rules

All adults driving children to and from Independent School must understand and abide by the following Traffic Rules:

  1. Obey the 5 MPH speed limit.
  2. Put your cell phone down.
  3. NO PARKING in the Staff parking lot from 7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  4. Pull all the way forward, as far as you can, to the front of the loading zone to make room for others behind you.
  5. Do not park and leave your car in the loading zone areas.
  6. Load and unload students at a curb loading zone only.
  7. Move out of the way (pull to a curb) immediately for the school bus to pass.
  8. Be patient and courteous, the traffic congestion lasts for only 5 - 10 minutes.
  9. Arrive to school around 7:55 a.m. - 8:07 a.m. and just after 2:45 to avoid the traffic problems.
  10. Never instruct your child to cross traffic or go out into the parking lot to enter your car. You must be at the curb for loading and unloading children.
  11. Be patient.

NOTE: There will be at least 2 teachers supervising the parking lots. Follow their directives and never argue with or ignore them. Failure to do so will result in a report to the California Highway Patrol.
