California School Dashboard

December 7, 2017

Dear Families,

The California Department of Education has released its first official statewide results of the new accountability system - the California School Dashboard. The results show steady academic progress in many areas throughout Alameda County. We are proud of the steady progress and growth that Castro Valley Unified School District has shown while we continue to look for ways to address areas in need of improvement. The Castro Valley Unified School District is fully committed to help students not just meet, but exceed academic expectations set forth by the State of California.

The Dashboard displays results of multiple measures, disaggregated by student groups to allow school districts to pinpoint specific areas of strength and weakness in need of growth. The Dashboard is a helpful tool and a key part of California’s commitment to transparency and continuous improvement.

Please take a few minutes to view the video and infographics (https://www.acoe.org/dashboard) provided by the Alameda County Office of Education to become familiar with the Dashboard:  Please note the  information on chronic absenteeism and college and career indicators are not yet included on the Dashboard but will be uploaded in the future.
