Redwood Named a Model Continuation High School
One of 25 schools in the state named model for their programs designed to help struggling students stay in school.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Torlakson named 25 schools in the state of California as Model Continuation Schools. The list of schools is meant to be a resource list of quality programs other schools can visit and emulate. Castro Valley Unified School District's Redwood High School was among those selected by Superintendent Torlakson.
"Every student comes to school with a different set of needs, and our job is to provide them with the best chance to succeed," said Torlakson. "That's why it's so important to provide students who are having trouble staying in school with great continuation high schools. The schools we are recognizing today have gone the extra mile to help kids get the education they deserve and need to succeed in life and careers. Congratulations to them all."
Redwood High School will retain this title for three years.
