Susan Passeggi appointed as Assistant Principal – Adult and Career Education
At its June 9th meeting, the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District appointed Susan Passeggi at the Assistant Principal of Adult and Career Education effective July 1, 2011.
At its June 9th meeting, the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District appointed Susan Passeggi at the Assistant Principal of Adult and Career Education effective July 1, 2011. Ms. Passeggi currently serves as the Assistant Director of Adult and Career Education for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
“We are extremely pleased to be able to hire an individual with Susan’s breadth and depth of experience in Adult and Career Education and who is well-respected by the students and staff she serves,” stated Superintendent Jim Negri. “When we interviewed Susan’s colleagues, we consistently heard the terms ‘student-centered,’ ‘listens to people,’ ‘a source of excellent information,’ ‘supportive,’ ‘knowledgeable,’ ‘collaborative,’ ‘creative and innovative,’ and ‘inclusive’ from everyone we interviewed.” Susan has worked extensively with the Adults with Disabilities program and developed a collaborative partnership with John Muir Hospital.
Susan’s twenty-four (24) years of experience in Adult and Career Education have all been in the Mt. Diablo USD where she served as a teacher and Program Coordinator before being appointed as the Assistant Director in 2005. She has also served as the Director of Education for Clausen House, which is dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities. Susan has also served as a supervisor of student teachers for St. Mary’s College. Her professional experiences will be an asset to the Castro Valley Adult and Career Education Program.
Ms. Passeggi earned her M.S. in Educational Leadership from California State University, East Bay and her B.A. in Music Therapy from the University of the Pacific.
Ms. Passeggi will be taking the position currently held by Judy Gestring who is retiring.
