Measure G Bond Program

May 10, 2017 - Update

The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee met on Wednesday, May 3rd. Ms. Sharon Triu-Quince, Director of Facilities provided an update on the Measure G Projects.

The District received Division of State Architect (DSA) approval for the portable classrooms and restroom site work design drawings and specifications for Chabot Elementary, Marshall Elementary, and Stanton Elementary Schools and the Project Lead the Way and Wellness Center Portables at Castro Valley High School. The existing security cameras for Palomares Elementary School and Redwood High School are currently being assessed to determine the replacement options.

CVUSD staff and the Hayward Area Recreation Department are continuing the meet to discuss and design new sports fields at Canyon and Creekside Middle Schools. Currently the architect is working on schematic designs. The District will be scheduling a community meeting on Saturday, May 20th to discuss the athletics program requirements and community concerns.

January 13, 2017 - Update

Following the passage of Measure G, the Castro Valley Unified School District has been taking steps necessary to begin modernization of school facilities planned for the next few years. A Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) was formed on September 22, 2016. The CBOC meetings will be held at least quarterly and are open to the public. The CVUSD Measure G Implementation Plan developed after completing a needs assessment, a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan, and site specific timelines, was approved by the CVUSD Governing Board on December 19, 2016. The Measure G Implementation Plan is posted below. The Castro Valley Unified School District is grateful to the voters in Castro Valley for approving Measure G,  a $123 million General Obligation Bond, and is looking forward to construction projects scheduled to begin over the summer into the next few years throughout the district.  Regular updates will be shared with the community through school newsletters, print media and online.
