AB 1466 Restraint and Seclusion
In compliance with Assembly Bill (AB)1466, Castro Valley Unified School District is committed to upholding the dignity, safety and overall well-being of all students under the purview of our care, while simultaneously complying with federal and state regulations.
On October 8, 2023, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill (AB)1466 into law, which requires that all local educational agencies collect and report specific data regarding behavioral restraints and seclusion data on the California Department of Education (CDE) website annually.
Castro Valley Unified School District utilizes behavioral restraints and seclusion only when deemed necessary to safely address immediate safety matters. Our staff members and educators are trained in conducting positive behavioral interventions and supports to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
