December 17th

Dear CVUSD Families,

As 2021 comes to a close, I want to wish you a safe and prosperous year ahead! The next two weeks will hopefully provide you the opportunity to rest and spend time with your loved ones. I share my deepest gratitude for all you have done, in partnership with our dedicated staff, to support our students so that they are able to focus on learning and staying healthy.

Please note the following important information to keep everyone safe as students return to school in January.

Testing for COVID:
Our COVID testing site at the CFA will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and available to you during the next two weeks should your children experience any COVID symptoms.

Thank you for continuing to monitor your child for COVID-19 symptoms prior to attending school each day. If your child has symptoms please do not send them to school.

Travel:
Please note that whether your travel is domestic or international, the CDC has recommended these CDC travel guidelines for testing, masking, and quarantine:

  • Delay travel until you’re fully vaccinated
  • If you’re not fully vaccinated, but choose to travel, get tested before and after
  • No matter your vaccination status, wear a mask indoors while on public transportation or in a transportation hub
  • Wearing a mask outdoors while traveling is no longer required, but still recommended for unvaccinated individuals

You can read more on the California Department of Public Health travel flyer here or the Alameda County Public Health Department travel flyer here: https://www.acoe.org/Page/2333

Upcoming Vaccination Clinics
CDPH strongly recommends that all persons eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines receive them at the first opportunity. Please visit the following website for more information on how you can make an appointment for your vaccination.  https://my.primary.health/l/alco-vax-signup

In partnership with La Familia, CVUSD will be hosting a vaccine clinic at the Castro Valley Center For The Arts Exhibition Hall on January 6th and January 13th from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We will be offering Peds Pfizer (5-11) and Pfizer (12+). Flyers will be shared soon.

On behalf of our team, I wish you a wonderful Holiday Season.

Best regards,

Superintendent Ahmadi
