Intra-District Transfers (within CVUSD)

Intra-District transfer requests are applicable to students who reside within the CVUSD boundaries, are currently enrolled in an elementary school in CVUSD, and are requesting a transfer from one elementary school to another within CVUSD.  

  • Transfers are granted based on space availability in the school and/or program requested. 
  • Available space is determined considering both current and projected space needs. 
  • A random unbiased lottery will be used when there are more requests for a school than there are spaces available. 
  • Once an Intra-District request is approved, your student will remain at that school through its final grade level (5th grade for elementary school or 8th grade for middle school). 

Please Note:  Many schools and grade levels are impacted and are not likely to have available space.

Please remember the time frame for Intra-District Transfer requests is March  1 - April 30, 2026.  Late applications will not be considered.

*Please note that intradistrict transfer requests are made during this timeline for the following school year. At this time we ARE NOT accepting transfer requests for the 2026-2027 school year or later.
