COVID-19 Antigen Testing UPDATE
January 28, 2022
Dear Families & Staff:
Since we’ve returned from winter break, interest in COVID testing has increased significantly and we understand that there have been long wait times. We’d like to ask for everyone to continue to demonstrate patience and grace with our District as we roll out new testing options.
Starting Monday, January 31st, CVUSD will transition from National Labs Mobile PCR Testing to CVUSD Mobile COVID-19 Antigen Testing. On-Site Mobile COVID-19 Antigen Testing will now be available once a week for asymptomatic students/staff who would like to test for screening or close contact exposure.
We will also be having Diagnostic/Clearance COVID-19 Antigen Testing for Students/Staff who have been symptomatic, been isolating and NEED a negative result in order to return to school/work.
Antigen Testing is through Primary.Health and ONLY available for students and staff of Castro Valley Unified School District. Staff/Parents/Guardians MUST complete Primary Health registration (you only have to register once) at https://my.primary.health/l/castrovalleyusd
SCREENING/EXPOSED (Modified Quarantine) COVID-19 ANTIGEN MOBILE TESTING FOR STUDENTS/STAFF WHO HAVE RECEIVED AN EXPOSURE LETTER:
Please note that the Antigen Mobile Testing at school sites are to ONLY be utilized by asymptomatic students/staff attending school that day. Student/Staff testing can only be conducted at their homeschool site location. Alternate school site testing locations are not openly available.
Mobile Testing is not for students who are currently isolating due to symptoms. If you have symptoms, you must make an appointment at the Adobe Art Center, CFA or another provider.
SCREENING TESTING: Regular testing of asymptomatic persons. Persons who had COVID-19 within the last 90 days do not need to participate in screening testing. If they do, PCR tests should NOT be used.
EXPOSURE (STUDENTS): Students on modified quarantine who are required to test will be able to test at the mobile unit.
EXPOSURE (STAFF):Vaccinated staff (including booster-eligible but unboosted) who are exposed can continue to come to work. Staff should be tested 3 to 5 days after their exposure.

DIAGNOSTIC/CLEARANCE COVID-19 ANTIGEN TESTING FOR STUDENTS/STAFF WHO HAVE RECEIVED INSTRUCTIONS FOR ISOLATION:
We have worked hard to prioritize testing availability for students/staff that have been isolating and NEED a negative result in order to return to school or work.
