The Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education is composed of five members elected by voters to four-year terms. Elections are staggered so that either two or three seats are up for election every two years. Beginning in 2024, the District transitioned from at-large elections to by-trustee-area elections, meaning voters elect a trustee who resides in and represents their geographic area.
Only registered voters residing within each trustee area may vote for the candidate running in their area. Candidate filing is expected to take place in July–August 2026 through the Alameda County Registrar of Voters. Filing information will be posted here when officially released.
For more information, visit the Alameda County Registrar of Voters or contact the CVUSD District Office at 510-537-3000, ext. 1211.
