Winter Health Reminders
Dear Parent/Guardian,
As we enter into the Winter season and begin seeing increased numbers of flu, COVID, RSV and other highly contagious viruses, we wanted to remind you of the following:
Please keep your student home if they are sick
Qualifying symptoms may include: fever, vomit, diarrhea, trouble eating, lack of sleep, severe cough, runny nose, or another symptom that is interfering with their ability to learn.
Students must be fever (100.0F) free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications, as well as vomit and diarrhea free for 24 hours, before returning to school.
While at school, please remind your students to:
Cover their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing
Use a tissue to wipe or blow their nose
Not share food or utensils with their friends or classmates
Wash hands frequently with soap and warm water
We still highly encourage masking.
While there is still not a vaccine for RSV. Influenza and COVID vaccines are available. Please check in with your healthcare provider for further information or visit: Alameda County Immunization Clinics or http://www.cdc.gov
Sincerely,
Nic McMaster
