Variable Term Waiver for 2022/2023 for Carly Becerra – English and Art Single Subject for Grade 9th-12th, American Literature, Yearbook and Art, at Redwood High School and CVVA

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District, at a board meeting to be held on December 14, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., will hold a public hearing on the approval of the Variable Term Waiver for 2022/2023 for Carly Becerra – English and Art Single Subject for Grade 9th-12th, American Literature, Yearbook and Art, at Redwood High School and CVVA. Carly Becerra has completed the Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential Program with CalStateTEACH and is finishing the California Teaching Performance Assessment (CalTPA). Her employment with Castro Valley Unified School District will be on the basis of a credential waiver.

Regarding Accounting of Development Fees for 2021-2022 Fiscal Year In The Following Fund Or Account: Capital Facilities Fund 25

 

Senate Bill 1693 became effective on January 1, 1997, amended Sections 66001 and 66006 of the Government Code, and added Section 66008 to the Government Code.  These changes to existing law require that a school district make the following specific information available to the public within 180 days of the end of the fiscal year:

  1. A brief description of the type of fee in the separate fund.
  2. The amount of the fee.
  3. The beginning and ending balance in the fund.
  4. The amount of fees collected and the interest earned in the fund.
  5. An identification of each public improvement on which fees were expended and the amount of the expenditures on each improvement funded with fees.
  6. An identification of an approximate date by which the construction of the public improvement will commence if the local agency determines that sufficient funds have been collected to complete financing on an incomplete public improvement.
  7. A description of each interfund transfer or loan made from the account or fund, including the public improvement on which the transferred or loaned fees will be expended; and in the case of an interfund loan, the date on which the loan will be repaid and the rate of interest that the account or fund will receive on the loan.
  8. The amount of refunds made pursuant to subdivision (e) of section 66001 and any allocations pursuant to subdivision (f) of section 66001.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Castro Valley Unified School District is in the process of adopting new materials for High School Health Education. Teachers have been working together to select and evaluate new materials. 

From June 27- July 27, 2022, the Castro Valley community is invited to preview new Health Education instructional materials proposed for district adoption. All adoption materials are available for viewing at the District office. The materials will not be available for check out. An adoption decision is expected to be made at the August Board meeting.

From May 13 - June 13, 2022, the Castro Valley community is invited to preview new Middle School Health 7 instructional materials proposed for district adoption. All adoption materials are available for viewing at the District office. The materials will not be available for check out. An adoption decision is expected to be made at the June  22, 2022 Board meeting.

NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION AND PUBLIC HEARING TO CONVEY EASEMENT
 
Notice is hereby given that, on November 10, 2021, the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District (“Board”) adopted Resolution No. 21 – 21/22 titled “Resolution Of The Board Of Education Of Castro Valley Unified School District Declaring Its Intention to Convey an Easement to Alameda County for Public Purposes” (“Resolution”) a copy of which is available on request and incorporated herein by reference.
 
The Board intends to consider conveyance of an easement to a roughly 200 square foot portion of District property (the “Easement”), on a portion of District property known as Castro Valley Elementary School, located at 20185 San Miguel Ave, Castro Valley, CA 94546.In accordance with Education Code section 17556 et seq., a public hearing on conveying the Easement will be held at the Board Meeting on December 8, 2021, beginning at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at The District Office, 4400 Alma Avenue, Castro Valley, California.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District, at its Regular Board Meeting to be held on December 8, 2021, will hold a public hearing, pursuant to Government Code sections 66001(d) and 66006(b) requiring the annual accounting of the Fund and those findings be made available to the public no later than November 23, 2021, that this information be reviewed by the Board at its next regularly scheduled board meeting held no earlier than 15 days after they become available to the public, and that notice of the time and place of this meeting (as well as the address at which this information may be reviewed) be mailed at least 15 days prior to this meeting to anyone who has requested it. 

The information required to be made available in the draft copy of this Resolution (along with Exhibits A and B which are hereby incorporated by reference into this Resolution) is as follows:

Variable Term Waiver for 2021/2022 for Esmeralda Corona-Pantoja – Foundational Math Single Subject for Grade 9th-12th, Integrated Math 1, at Castro Valley High School


Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Castro Valley Unified School District, at a board meeting to be held on November 10, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., will hold a public hearing on the approval of the Variable Term Waiver for 2021/2022 for Esmeralda Corona-Pantoja – Foundational Math Single Subject for Grade 9th-12th, Integrated Math 1, at Castro Valley High School. In special circumstances, the Commission on Teacher Credentialing provides for variable term waivers for those who do not yet have the appropriate credential. Esmeralda Corona-Pantoja is currently enrolled in the Preliminary Math Single Subject Credential Program with the California State University of East Bay. Her employment with Castro Valley Unified School District will be on the basis of a credential waiver.
