Update from the Superintendent - May 18, 2020 @ 8:30 a.m.

Last week, the much anticipated May Revise was released. Governor Newsom and his administration have been forced to make tough decisions for the revised Fiscal Year 2020-2021 budget due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The budget calls for a reduction of $12.3 billion for K-12 public education, a decrease of almost 20 percent from the proposed January education budget. These unprecedented cuts will undoubtedly impact our students and the educators who serve them. The proposed school funding reductions make the already difficult task of opening schools this fall in the midst of a pandemic that much more challenging.

Castro Valley Unified School District Appoints Beth Cutter as Director of Castro Valley Adult and Career Education

Castro Valley, CA – (April 9, 2020) – At tonight's board meeting, the Board of Education appointed Ms. Beth Cutter as the Director of Castro Valley Adult and Career Education (CVACE). Ms. Cutter is replacing Mrs. Susie Passeggi who is retiring at the end of the school year. Mrs. Passeggi has been an exemplary leader in Adult Education in the Bay Area and has given many years of unparalleled service to our district and our community.

Grab and Go Meals - Updated Pick Up Days

Measure I Update

Thank you for your continued support of our schools and for our students.  Although initial Measure I results have not yet achieved the 2/3 level required for passage, we are grateful for the community's support and will continue to wait until every last ballot has been counted.  We are still waiting for final results of yesterday's election on Measure I and it could be a few days or even a couple of weeks until we know the final results, as Alameda County Registrar's Office is still counting ballots mailed in.
