PUBLIC NOTICE OF MATERIALS RECOMMENDED FOR ADOPTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Castro Valley Unified School District is in the process of adopting new Introduction to Programming course materials for Castro Valley High School.  Administrators and teachers have been working together to select and evaluate these new materials.

From February 21, 2020 - March 21, 2020, the Castro Valley community is invited to preview all proposed materials. All materials are viewable at the District Office at 4400 Alma Avenue, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday.  Individuals interested in reviewing the materials may stop by the Educational Services department, and sign in with the Administrative Assistant. The materials will not be available for check out. An adoption decision is expected at the April 9, 2020 Board of Education meeting.

ACOE Census 2020 PSA Contest

The Alameda County Office of Education is sponsoring a video contest with the support of California Complete Count.

This is a chance to be creative, get your work to a wide audience, and have a chance to win money!

Any student in kindergarten through 12th grade who attends school in Alameda County can participate. Students may enter individually or as a group, including school organizations and clubs.

Castro Valley Elementary School Receives 2020 California Distinguished Schools Award

Castro Valley, CA – (December 19, 2019) – State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond, has announced that 323 elementary schools are being honored under the 2020 California Distinguished Schools Award Program. It is with great excitement that we share the great news that Castro Valley Elementary School has been named a 2020 California Distinguished School. The Distinguished School Award recognizes schools based on performance and progress on the state indicators as specified on the California School Dashboard.
