my name is lavender Whitaker Castro Valley Unified School District for president and tonight we're here to celebrate you celebrate the countless hours dedicated to the children in our district helping them learn helping them grow and become good positive members of our society we want to thank you for your service and we want you to know that you'll always be part of the Castro Valley Unified wishing you all the best in retirement and the next journey in your life thank you again congratulations retirement thank you for the many years that you have tributed to the Castro Valley Unified School District and our students we will miss you and we definitely want to hear about all the wonderful things you going to do in your retirement I know that as you stay perhaps thinking about retirement last year none of us knew the kind of year we will go in the house thank you for staying with it being resilient and we appreciate all your hard work can you relations stay safe and be well hello nothing can be said or done to adequately show our deep appreciation to our classified employees for your years of service and dedication to our students and to our community we are so sorry that we could not send you off this year as in past years with a retirement reception an event we truly enjoy celebrating with you we hope somehow to make it up to you in the future stay safe be well and our hope for you is that you find joy in each and every day of your retirement on behalf of the Castro Valley Unified School District Personnel commission we extend our thanks and our most heartfelt gratitude thank you hi it's hard to believe that the 6 years ago I open my classroom door at Marshall Elementary wow where has the time gone my Fondest Memories were teaching my students and interacting with all of the programs throughout my career as I join the leadership team I had the privilege to serve an elementary principal at polymerase and PVE and then at the district level I had the privilege to be the director of secondary education and all of these experiences I partnered with amazing principles teachers classified staff district office staff to make sure that we were providing the best opportunity for our student throughout my career I also was supported and encouraged by so many I would like to thank all my superintendent superintendent principles features parent community members members of the ROP and our partners at Chabot College so thank you for that as well as our board members that believed in me and incur to keep going every step of the way throughout my career so thank you it is Bittersweet to announce my retirement but as one door closes another one opens and I am thrilled for the next chapter in my life with my fan I can hardly wait and neither can they so Castro Valley thank you for rewarding career where I've had the opportunity to positively influence so many we here at Valley Unified School District walk the talk all means all and I have been fortunate and blessed to be part of this district for 36 years I am honored for all of my opportunity so Castro Valley continue stay strong be safe and continue with our commitment that's all means off thank you I just want to say there's been nothing better than working in adult education for 33 years knowing that adult schools truly change people's lives and and impact communities been really inspired everyday by our students who work so hard to meet their goals in the midst of everything else that's happening and in most adult lives and I am truly grateful for the last nine years of my career was spent Castro Valley Adult and Career Education it's been really the best nine years of my career thanks to my amazing team and great staff that I worked and also from the support from the district office and are bored it's just been a great ride and it's going to be really hard to say goodbye but but I'm excited about retirement as well just want to say thank you looking for spending time with my my new grandson and my husband and having some time to really work at Living so thank you so much hello I'm Rose. 25 years ago I entered Dino elementary school as a parent and for the first 10 years I spent as a parent the next 15 years I spent as a paraprofessional I've been blessed to work with the best staff people who care deeply about student and I've also work with the best student it is been a gift to see the students grow up in fact just the other day I ran into a van or student and he is now at West Point I've been able to see kindergarteners graduating college 25 years is a long time to be in one place Savannah Elementary School community who accepted me with my Whimsical cell in my retirement I hope to read more I hope to do more music I hope to travel a little bit more and maybe I'll take a stab visit Elementary School and see how they're doing my mantra Ben Hawaiian mango culiacan strive for the highest that is what I've asked of my students to strive for the highest so in my retirement I say mahalo aloha booty hoe retiree thanks for watching my video so I actually retired on October 31st very scary retirement can be if you don't have a plan and I kind of picked up on purpose because take some planning but it's in great I was at Cache Valley Jaime Lee counselor and love working with the team and the staff there is amazing the teachers and classified staff for great I miss it but I'm enjoying life I have three kids doing Livermore Wine and miss again. Hard and six grandkids all in Livermore and and mustard are it's been one week and this has been really hard as you know for everybody and I can't wait to hide them again other than that in a long time down in Santa Cruz and we love it down there and basically yet so everyone is doing well and maybe I'll see you around thanks for watching Little Pony
