Classified Employees

Classified employees include most support personnel, such as clerical, bus drivers, technical, instructional assistants, food services workers, and accounting.

 

Castro Valley Unified School District is a Merit System district. The merit system in California school districts is a method of personnel management that is meant to provide a sound personnel management system, ensuring efficiency, economy, fairness, and impartiality in the selection, retention, and promotion of classified employees. A personnel commission is a body independent of the school board that oversees the selection and retention of classified employees based on principles of merit.
