Classified Employees

Classified employees include most support personnel, such as clerical, bus drivers, technical, instructional assistants, food services workers and accounting.
 
Castro Valley Unified School District is a Merit System district. The merit system in California school districts is a method of personnel management that is meant to provide a sound personnel management system insuring efficiency, economy, fairness and impartiality in the selection, retention and promotion of classified employees. A personnel commission is a body independent of the school board that oversees the selection and retention of classified employees based on principles of a merit. Alliant Pathway to Teaching Grant Information - if qualified, receive up to $5,000 to earn a credential in the following areas:
 
o Credential in Single Subject Teaching
o Credential in Multiple Subject Teaching
o Credential in Education Specialist Instruction, Mild/Moderate Disabilities
