Contractor Pre-Qualification
As of January 1, 2014, to comply with California Assembly Bill AB 2031, Castro Valley USD requires General Contractors and MEP Subcontractors to be prequalified on all Measure G Bond Construction Contracts. Castro Valley USD also requires prequalification on all CUPCCAA Construction Contracts.
To become prequalified, applications must be submitted to PQBids.com. PQBids is an easy to use web-based application that streamlines the new Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) prequalification process. Link to CVUSD PQBids webpage: https://pqbids.com/castro-valley-usd/

* CUPCCAA Informal Bid Registration: Bids for informally bid projects are solicited through notices to construction trade journals and/or notices sent to contractors on a list of registered contractors maintained by the district. CUPCCAA is an acronym for California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act. Since 1983, school districts that adopt CUPCCAA procedures may perform public project work up to $75,000 with their in-house work force, and informally bid construction projects up to $200,000 to contractors.
